About Us

Kelvin was born in a New York winter.

Kelvin began in 2013 when CEO Marshall Cox, then a PhD student in electrical engineering at Columbia, invented a smart insulated radiator enclosure after his twin complained about an overheated dorm room.

That concept, the Cozy, evolved into Radiator Labs, now Kelvin.

Kelvin focuses on older multifamily buildings with steam or hot-water systems and tight capital budgets. Using smart controls, distributed electric heating, and real-time building data, Kelvin provides owners an economically feasible path to meet carbon reduction mandates like Local Law 97 without major renovations or reduced comfort.
